I went in for my final ultrasound on June 27th to check my fluid level and to see how big Brody was. The ultrasound sized him up at 7 lb 9 oz and all levels looked good. But as I was walking out of the doctor's office, I asked the nurse to check my blood pressure as I didn't feel well. My BP was extremely high so I got to lay in a room until the doctor could see me. They checked it several times over 2 hours and it really wasn't going down. So I got admitted to the hospital for the night.
A little history...when I went in for Aubrey's last ultrasound 3 years ago, I was also admitted into the hospital and had her a day later. I was 39 weeks with her. But I was 37 1/2 weeks this time so I was nervous not wanting to have Brody until July 11th as scheduled.
As soon as I got in the hospital, my BP dropped back to normal and stayed that way all night. The doctor (our close friend from church) wanted to go ahead and take Brody that day as to not take a chance. But after much discussion, we decided to do the C Section on July 1st. (That would give me, the engineer, time to go home and get things in order.) I had to finish buying Aubrey's birthday decorations/favors, pack my hospital bag, go to work and transfer everything to my relief, and pray!!!
Ken and I went back to the hospital Friday morning, July 1st at 5 am. Our awesome friends from church came and prayed with us and then the surgery prep began. At 6:30 am, Ken and I were taken back to surgery and by 7:30 am, Brody was here. He had the deepest little man cry that was so precious. Everything went smooth. Aubrey gave him a sticker on his diaper and they became best friends. He weighed in at 8 lb 6 oz and 20 1/2 inches long. How big would he have been if I would have made it to his due date?
Aubrey is the best big sister. She covers him with hugs and kisses, keeps him with his paci, and tells me if he needs milk. Its been one month now and he is already growing too fast. He is a great baby. Eats, sleeps, and fills his diaper. Then we do it all over again. The Lord has blessed us with two healthy miracles in Aubrey and Brody. We are so thankful.
